As I write this post we’re in the car on the back to Dan’s parents for Christmas. I can’t remember the last time I stayed away from Sheffield when it wasn’t for work. It’s nice to get away and have a break – especially with doing up the house. We’re absolutely shattered. From now, for the next two days, we can eat, drink and be merry! Let the celebrations begin!
Christmas is weird for us this year as we don’t feel festive in the slightest. We sent only a handful of cards, bought a couple presents and haven’t even put up a tree. A normal Christmas would have seen me baking cakes for friends, and getting excited about the run up to Christmas with some festive feast ideas. I’d cooked a few festive dishes by now and shared them on my blog. This year has been house, house, house! That’s essentially our present this year. A house. It’s not a bad present really.
We’re half an hour away from Rainow and I can already taste the mulled wine and mince pies.
