Yesterday marked one year since Dan popped the question and we got engaged. He proposed in a bar called Gorilla over a falafel wrap to the sounds of Hot 8 Brass Band. It might not sound romantic, but for us it was perfect. We drank champagne, shared a romantic dessert and walked around in the rain in a bid to take it all in. One year on, we’re even more in love and no closer to planning our wedding. Ooops!
It’s crazy – we should be thinking about getting things booked, but in all honesty – we don’t see the need to rush. What with Dan’s business, me starting new jobs and this blog – we haven’t had the time. When we got engaged we never imagined that we’d be buying a house a year later. We didn’t think for one second that by the following Christmas we’d be packing up our belongings for a move to our first home. It’s been a roller coaster and our toughest year so far. I’m hopeful that our next year of being engaged will be filled with painting, decorating and enjoying our new house.
After that, maybe we’ll start thinking about our big day!
