I thought it was about time I mastered the art of poaching eggs. It’s something I should be able to do – I’m a food blogger for christ sake. However the last time I tried making them, they separated and went horribly wrong. With fresh eggs in the fridge and a lack of recipe inspiration, I cracked on with making them.
So, how do you make the perfect egg? With one ingredient. Eggs. And water.
Simply bring water to the simmer in a large casserole style pan until tiny bubbles form on the bottom. Keep it at a steady temperature, crack your first egg into a small dish and smoothly transfer to the pan. Repeating with the rest of your eggs. Set your timer for two minutes and fish out with slatted spoon.
Mastering the perfect poached egg takes a few goes – but it’s 10% worth it!
