Today marks eight years since our Mum died. I always have the day off and I always do something for myself. Today I had my nails done and a massage – which was lovely – and then tortured myself a little with my first laser hair removal session (which was really bloody painful).
Anyhow – back to my blog post. Every time we went out for food, Mum would order herself the same Italian treat. She was a creature of habit – certainly not one to forgo her favourite dish in search of an even better one (like moi). She liked lasagne. Proper pub cooked lasagna. So that’s what we’re having for dinner this evening, along with some Thorntons Chocolate Liqueur and Pistachio Trifles I had to make for work (it’s such a hard life, I know!).
My closest friends, Fera and Rich, are coming up for dinner to celebrate and clink glasses with us.
Exciting – I have a lasagne and fresh pasta to make. Hope it doesn’t go wrong. I’ll share the recipe for this AND my trifle in the coming days.
