Sipping tea in the Peak District

I’m blogging from my phone again today as WordPress still haven’t fixed my blog :/.

This weekend, despite the rain and stormy weather, we’ve been lucky enough to enjoy some simple meals in some stunning Peak District loctions near home. Yesterday we went to Padley Gorge past Fox House, near Sheffield to have our breakfast by the river. We picked a rocky place to sit, where the water trickled noisily by a collection of huge rocks – all we ate were pastries with fruit juice and coffee (well for me, not Dan), but the location was beautiful. It was an amazing morning and perfect way to kickstart two days off.

Today we went to Matlock. We took pita with ham, cheese and coleslaw, a bag of crisps each and some homemade honey and coconut cake (i’ll blog the recipe when WordPress is working again). Our food was nothing special, but equally perfect. We sat in Matlock park by the bandstand and ate them as we snuggled on a bench and watched the world go by.

To us, this is a perfect weekend. We like the Peaks and we love simple food.

(Fingers crossed I can get back to blogging properly tomorrow).
