A few weeks ago the lovely guys at Savse sent me some of their raw, unpasterised smoothies to review. Whilst I like fruit juice and other smoothies – I don’t drink them often. This is because they’re packed full or artificial sugars and don’t do you as much good as the packaging likes to make out. When I was offered the opportunity to review them, I was quick to air my views on smoothies… And was quickly put in my place.
Savse smoothies have been developed to be as good for you as possible. They combine vitamin rich vegetables and fruit (in some pretty unusual combinations) to help you on your way to a healthy, happy 5-a-day.
When the parcel arrived I went straight for the greenest… Broccoli, pear, spinach, kale and more. Whilst it wasn’t my favourite flavour, there was something satisfyingly healthy about its earthy flavour.
I sipped my way through the whole range until I landed on my favourite flavour combination – strawberry, orange, celery, kale, broccoli and spinach. It tastes sweet without tasting ‘sweetened’ and the greens weren’t recognisable. I did notice on the days I had them that I felt good – it felt like a boost. I also enjoyed the rhubarb, celery and strawberry flavour.
A few people have already asked me where you can buy them. I don’t think they’re widely available yet, but you can purchase them from Whole Foods, Harrods and Selfridges.
Have you tried any of the Savse range yet?
