When I was a child I used to always ask for Angel Delight. It was a treat reserved for when I’d ‘been good’ and, unlike my own presentation in a wine glass with flumps, ice cream and sprinkles, my Angel Delight would be ‘slopped’ into a bowl for me to enjoy in front of the telly. I didn’t know any better to be honest – I loved it all the same.
Now I don’t know about you, but I think Angel Delight is under-rated in the dessert arena. It may be a mix designed for kids and families, but just a few additions can turn it into a quick and easy treat for grown-ups too. Plus they’re fairly low in fat – making them a healthy (yet fairly sugary) dessert option. To add to the dessert nostalgia, we decided to add in some flumps – yum! It has to be said that this dessert is one of the easiest cold desserts I’ve made in a loooong time – and it took all of twenty minutes to make.
Want some? You’ll need:
- 1 pack of strawberry Angel Delight
- 300 ml milk
- 1 banana
- 2 flumps
- Ice cream
- Mix up your Angel Delight with your milk and add in your chopped banana.
- Pour into two glasses and add in your flump – we cut our in half and placed on top.
- Leave to cool in the fridge for 15 minutes before adding on a spoon of ice cream (or frozen yoghurt if you wish) and sprinkles.
- Eat straight away.
