Today was my [kind of] day off. I got up early and spent a morning with Dan and his business partner helping them out with some writing, before hitting town and treating myself to some chocolates!
For some reason Chocolate Carousel (the one next to TK Maxx), doesn’t have a website – Doh! That said, it doesn’t stop me blogging about the tasty treats I got from there earlier today. They were too tasty to not include on the old blog, so here goes!
£3.85 will get you 100g of tasty chocolate truffles. That’s a snack size bag of not-at-all-sickly chocolate, perfect for one. From their chocolate counter you can pick anything chocs of your choice, I went for a strawberry truffle, a champagne truffle, a mocha truffle, a praline and milk chocolate snap-bite-thing.
Whilst I loved each and every one of the chocolates, two of them knocked my socks right off. The lady at the counter recommended the praline truffle (the white and milk chocolate one), she told me it was their best seller, and I could totally taste why. You know the Toffiffee cups you can usually pick up from Poundland? I love them and it tasted like them, but much richer. The inside was perfectly gooey and the whole thing melted in my mouth (yep, I’m drooling as I type). Seriously – it was AMAZING, I can’t wait to have another one!
The second chocolate to catch me by surprise was the mocha truffle. Unlike a normal mocha truffle, it had crumbled walnuts on top of the coffee centre, both of which were covered in a rich white chocolate. The flavour of the walnuts complimented the coffee so well… I made it last as long as possible! If you like coffee truffles, you would love this.
So, next time you’re in town and looking for a tasty treat, don’t forget about the little Carousel Chocolate shop near TK Maxx. You never know, a visit there may just make your day!
